Touring the rooms and levels of the mansion brings us in touch with material remains of other times and stories that are moving.
Each time we share the little secrets of the mansion with you, we reveal all that makes this building unique, but also capable of housing special moments and giving birth to new stories.
It is the imperceptible traces of time, in an area with a centuries-old past, that inspire us and create the evocative atmosphere that captivates.

Embraced by ancient vineyards, olive groves and verdant gardens, our land is reborn by a hospitality philosophy inspired by history and tradition all the while remaining deeply connected to the nature that surrounds it.

At Kinsterna Hotel, even the shortest route invites our eyes to rest in nature and relax.As you walk around the fertile gardens, you will be greeted by a series of stimulants.
Be it the imposing cypress trees that lead you to the pool and tavern, the evening primrose and jasmine that tenderly bid you goodnight after the last cocktail under the stars while in the early hours of the day the soft, morning light gracefully caresses the vines and olive trees.
Similarly, the fruit bearing trees and the various aromatic plants introduce themselves in various ways.
Either on a stroll through the orchards or by participating in their harvesting, savouring them through the honorary role they receive at our restaurants in the form of creative culinary combinations or by enjoying them through inspired treatments at Kinsterna Hotel’s spa.
Among our cosmetic products, we particularly highlight some that make use of the botanical wealth of the estate, offering a Mediterranean pampering experience of exclusively natural origin.

To create the ultimate hospitality experience, we have designed the stay at Kinsterna to combine, down to the smallest detail, the charm of the old with the comfort of the new.
The rooms and suites of the hotel invite us to make our own journey towards total relaxation, thanks to the discreet luxury of the spaces and the atmospheric ambiance that the history of the place implies.
Among our narrow streets and lush gardens, we find another series of residences and two magnificent villas. Here we share with you the ideal epitome of tradition and modern design: the architecture has been put entirely at the service of privacy, while remaining faithful to the style and character of the historic estate.
All the accommodation options we offer you are completely different from each other, as they are a combination of the existing historic building and the curative study upon which we based the final design and decoration.
At the same time, however, we have adopted some basic principles in all our accommodation spaces that are evident in their common features.
Features such as the application of traditional, handmade “lace” tapestry on the walls, the embossed headboards, the impressive wooden ceilings with herringbone reed interiors, the luxurious marble bathrooms, the traditional wooden shutters and corresponding doors, the handmade carpets, the top quality linens, and the balance between vintage and modern decorative design objects.
Always keeping in mind the comfort, relaxation and meeting our guests every need, we have equipped the rooms of Kinsterna Hotel with modern amenities- such as smart TV, high-speed wireless internet, queen or king size beds and a pillow menu.
Appreciating the charm of the architectural elements that compose the personality and testify the past of the mansion, we chose to preserve and integrate all the pre-existing structures of the building into the functional spaces.
Thus, for example, in most of the rooms of the Kinsterna Hotel, as well as in the public areas, we find fireplaces that are several hundred years old; a feature that, combined with the deep stone walls, makes the mansion a warm shelter during the winter months.
Similar origins can be traced back to the war memorials – a relic of defensive architecture – that have been incorporated into our Byzantine suites.
Thanks to its unique structural physiognomy, Kinsterna Hotel emerges as a multifaceted ambassador of the natural beauty surrounding the estate. Each room offers a different view of the vineyards, olive groves, the sea and the lush gardens.
For many of us, travel is unthinkable without our beloved four-legged companions. At Kinsterna, our fondness for these special guests is no secret.
To see this, one only needs to take a walk through the gardens or stables of the estate. With us, you can be sure that the care you will experience will, of course, include your pet companions.

The tasty identity of the place
An indispensable element, an inviolable rule of every aspect of the experience of total relaxation and enjoyment that we offer at Kinsterna Hotel, is localness – in its most authentic form.
The culinary approach that our chef and his team have followed in creating the proposals that comprise the menus of our restaurants follows the same philosophy.
Simple and delicate flavours that result from the combination of raw materials of exceptional quality, invite us to indulge in the Mediterranean delights of Greek cuisine.
In perfect harmony with our wines, the dishes served both around the Byzantine cistern (in the award-winning, homonymous restaurant “sterna”, with fine dining proposals) and under the shade of the trees in the tavern “linos” (with food simmered in the wood-fired oven) and the all day restaurant “mouries”, guarantee the awakening of the senses in a gastronomic experience of getting to know the local flavours.
In each of the different versions offered by the three restaurants of Kinsterna Hotel, the inspiration generated by traditional Greek cuisine, perfectly combined with modern techniques, remains dominant.
Our gratitude for all the gifts the Greek land offers us translates into highlighting the flavourful characteristics of each vegetable and fruit that thrives in our gardens.
The biggest “exhibition” of Laconian products to which we invite you daily, throughout your stay at Kinsterna Hotel, is none other than the “Greek Breakfast” we offer: a feast of flavours and local dishes such as sourdough bread, local cheese “ladotiri”, traditional “tsaitia” pies, pumpkin pie, lalangia, trachanas and rice pudding.
Here, we usher in the new day with a delicious feast, colourful and fragrant – and above all tasty.
The seasonal produce of the farm is in the spotlight, adding to the morning rite of awakening the taste of prickly pears transformed into the most refreshing juice, and the crunchy sweetness of a tart with figs from our trees.

Waking up in another era
The elegant double rooms offer a romantic, timeless accommodation experience. Warm and inviting, they are designed to support a quick work session- or serve a sudden inspiration, as they feature office furniture.
Staying in a double room at Kinsterna Hotel is an immediate, experiential experience of contact with the history of the mansion, since the rooms of this category have unique characteristics. Some examples: the preserved part of an old wall in room 22, an old fireplace that has been restored and is now the dominant decorative feature of room 38, the old arches in room 24.
In each double room we welcome up to two people, offering the choice of a double or twin bed. The private bathroom has a shower cabin. The size of the room ranges from 17 to 30 m2 (182 – 323 ft2).

In the wake of the Byzantine castles
We often like to think that the Byzantines would approve of the name we have given to these suites at Kinsterna Hotel; a name dictated by the Byzantine domes and stone arches that have made these spaces unsurpassed for many of our guests.
All rooms in this category have an outdoor terrace with lush vegetation, ideal for enjoying the tranquillity of nature all around, reading one’s book choice from the mansion’s library; or a hot cup of coffee in the morning, watching the sunrise.
Our Byzantine suites were created in the pre-existing, vaulted parts of the building with the “Byzantine temple” being the most special element of their decoration.
It is a functional separator between the dressing/bathroom areas and the main room. The wall tapestries, the antique mirrors, the comfortable armchairs, the low lighting and the small niches in the walls create an atmosphere that takes us back to the Byzantine period.
The atmospheric character of these rooms culminates in one of our suites, which has the historical peculiarity of having been used in the past as a… prison cell.
We guarantee, of course, that its space today has every feature capable of intensifying the desire to stay; no guest has expressed the slightest desire to… escape from Byzantine Suite 25!

Immerse yourself in a world of elegance

Staying in a Junior Suite of Kinsterna Hotel introduces us to a world of timeless architectural elegance. Each of the Junior Suites has its own unique character.
Some of them are on the ground floor and include lush private terraces, while others reveal special elements of the architectural heritage of the mansion.
For example, in one of the suites, we can observe the perfectly preserved cistern discharge spout, on which stalactites were created hundreds of years ago: this was the point from which the water runoff was controlled to water the estate (Junior Suite 14).
Similarly, the impressive Ottoman fireplace, perhaps the oldest in the building, is a unique feature of another suite, which allows us to enrich your stay with extra warmth on the coldest winter nights (Junior Suite 32).
The Junior Suites offer, beyond the means for total relaxation, a stay in an aesthetically uplifting space. Warm and earthy tones predominate, while our eye rests on the elegance and nobility of the traditional aesthetic elements (such as the lace wallpaper), which create an interesting contrast with the lively, bustling natural world that surrounds us on the estate.

Each room, a unique piece of history
35-42 m² / Maximum capacity 3 Persons
Kinsterna Suites have consistently held the top spot, remaining to this day the most popular choice among our guests. Spacious and with a separate living area, they offer stunning views of the Aegean Sea and the mansion’s private vineyards, while most of them have a balcony.
The preference enjoyed by these unique spaces among guests is anything but accidental. Here, the unique architectural “gifts” of the mansion’s history blend harmoniously with the inspired decor, further enhancing the unique atmosphere and evocativeness of the spaces.
In each of the specific suites we are welcomed by a fireplace, as a central element of the interior space either old or new, often adorned with the characteristic wavy mantlepiece.
In the place where the mansion’s cannon was located(Kinsterna Suite 39), we find a balcony that was formed over the old “linen” and the must tanks where the grapes were probably pressed and the must was collected.
The Kinsterna Suite 37, one of the most special rooms of the mansion, also exudes the charm of the past: where today the living room invites us into moments of relaxation, in the past there was allegedly a kitchen designed by the previous owners of the mansion.
This view is reinforced by two pieces of evidence that are very interesting. The first is none other than the very large preserved fireplace, while the second is a hatch that was found and probably facilitated the concealment or transport of food from the old cellar and mill.

Kinsterna Pool Villas offer a wonderful corner of relaxation and rest, the perfect end to a day of exploring the nearby castle town and the surrounding area. On cooler evenings or during winter, their fireplace invites us around to share unique moments of warmth.
